Young
Ron Young is
acknowledged as a leading international expert in KM, Ron has a deep
global perspective on the key issues of KM. Consulting engagements
include advising and assisting several major Multi-National
Corporations, National Governments and Professional Institutions.
He was a lead
consultant for the EC ‘Know-Net’ project and joint author of
‘Knowledge Asset Management’ (Springer 2003) and ‘Upside Down
Management’ (McGraw Hill Europe). He regularly chairs leading KM
conferences around the world.
He has chaired both the
British Standards Institute (BSI) Knowledge Management Standards
Committee for 3 yrs and the European CEN KM Standards Committee for
2 yrs. He has been a Member of the UK Parliamentary Information
Technology Committee since 1985.
He has obtained
Fellowships of the British Computer Society, British Institute of
Management, Institute of Directors and a Fellowship of the Asian
Knowledge Management Association in Hong Kong.
He advised and assisted
the UK DTI Innovation Unit in the production of the UK Government
white paper ‘ UK Competitiveness in the Knowledge Driven Economy’.
He has advised and assisted Universities in the production of MSc
Knowledge Management programmes

Telecommunications and Executive MBA by Estema Business School.
He is accredited as Knowledge Associates practitioner. It is also
certified by Success Motivation International as a professionnal
coach.
Acknowledged as an expert in business management, with a deep
experience in consulting and advisoring organizations. He is
developing researching activities in PhD programs on KM and
Innovation.
He has participated in several initiatives for international
organizations in Europe, USA and Latin America.
For more than 4 years he has been member of the IBM Software
Management Council at the IBM laboratories in Austin, TX (USA).
He has collaborated in strategic guidelines and books about
methodologies, practices, technological tools and cultural aspects
on KM. Following the steps of the Knowledge Management Institute, he
participated in internal publications and books as: “SMB and Mid
Market collaboration requirements”, 2004; “Portal Solutions.
Communities of practice”, 2003; “Collaboration Solutions”, 2002.
He gives sessions in several business schools about strategic
knowledge management. Always challenging CEOs to start demonstrating
the value of a real KM.
